Building AI Products from Nigeria — and Competing Globally

Nobox Labs

There's a persistent myth in tech: world-class AI infrastructure only comes from a handful of cities. Nobox Labs exists to disprove it.

The advantage of building under constraint

Nigerian engineering teams have spent years shipping reliable systems with limited infrastructure, unpredictable connectivity, and lean budgets. That constraint breeds resourcefulness — you design for efficiency because you have to.

When we built AIGenius, we didn't have the luxury of throwing compute at problems. We optimized inference routing, built hybrid local-cloud workflows, and designed cost-aware metering from the start. Those constraints made the product better, not worse.

Global products, local roots

AIGenius serves users worldwide from our base in Nigeria. Our inference gateway connects to providers across the US, Europe, and Asia. Our desktop app runs local models on machines in Lagos, London, and San Francisco.

Being headquartered in Nigeria isn't a limitation — it's a perspective. We understand what it means to need reliable, affordable access to technology that others take for granted.

What we're building toward

We're deepening our inference capabilities — optimizing how models are routed, how agents execute tools, and how local and cloud inference work together. The goal is simple: make AI infrastructure that works everywhere, for everyone.

The invitation

If you're building with AI — whether you're a startup in Nairobi, an enterprise in London, or a solo developer anywhere — we'd like to talk. Our products are live. Our infrastructure is production-tested. And we're just getting started.
